The Company was upgrading its UPS-based shipping application WorldShip to a next generation product called ConnectShip. The new product offered the capability of plugging-in the required logic specific to Company’s warehouse operations. Which in turn has provided an opportunity to automate the shipping confirmation process required by major e-Commerce platforms (such as Amazon.com and eBay.com) directly from UPS ConnectShip at the point of packaging and labeling.
The engineered solution was architected to extend scripting capabilities of UPS ConnectShip application (which was based on outdated scripting model such as VBScript and ActiveX) into components that are build and have access to modern technologies (like Microsoft .Net Framework and supporting technologies such as SOAP based API).
That allowed to integrate the legacy technologies-based coding into a smooth data flow and seamless submissions to major e-Commerce platforms and opened possibilities for further expansion.
