Remote Diagnostics for Medical Imaging Equipment
Issue
An independent service organization’s business is to provide off-warranty service contracts for medical imaging equipment such and CT and MRI scanners. They had 3 significant challenges:
- The original equipment manufacturers were expanding into this service offering;
- The success of service depends on proactive monitoring of the equipment’s “health”;
- They need to identify failures due to customer negligence.
Solution
We developed a custom software solution that:
- collected remote diagnostics information;
- escalated alerts when the environmental conditions posed risks for the equipment, and;
- monitored compliance with the operational conditions established by the manufacturer.
This solution collected data from 3,000 locations that processed 70M data points per day.
Impact
Client was able to increase their market share by merging with several other service organizations that focused on similar services for other medical equipment.
